Unweaving

The work Unweaving is based on an existing crochet pattern of Marilyn Monroe. Using fine lace thread, wool yarn, and other fibrous materials, I recreated her iconic hairstyle and pearl necklace. As the portrait emerged, stitch by stitch. This slow process led me to realize that a widely recognized public persona is, in fact, merely a starting point for truly understanding an individual.
